Mac Spam Filtering: Eudora

MS Entourage | Apple Mail | Eudora

SpamWatch is a powerful new feature, available to Eudora 6x Paid mode, which allows you to manage junk e-mail messages (spam) to save time and avoid viewing them.

Upon installation of Eudora 6x Paid mode, Eudora will prompt you to create a mailbox called Junk to store junk e-mail messages (spam). A new Junk mailbox will appear in your mailbox list. The Junk mailbox can not be deleted or renamed. The next time you check e-mail Eudora will recognize and automatically filter junk messages to this mailbox. After 30 days Eudora will automatically delete these messages.

How do I turn SpamWatch on or off?

In Eudora, go to Special: Settings: Junk Mail. Put a checkbox next to Hold junk in Junk mailbox to turn SpamWatch on.

To train Spamwatch, use the Junk and Not Junk commands.

Highlight the message, then select Junk from the Message pull-down menu. The message will be transferred into the Junk mailbox.

Similarly, if you have a message in your Junk mailbox that is not junk, highlight the message, then use the Not Junk command. The message will be transferred out of the Junk mailbox.

Regular training will improve your SpamWatch accuracy and performance.
