Mac Spam Filtering: Entourage
MS Entourage | Apple Mail | Eudora
Entourage's Junk E-mail Protection uses the Microsoft SmartScreen technology to classify messages you receive as junk mail. For example, if you receive a message that appears to be junk, Junk E-mail Protection assigns that message to the Junk category, moves the message to the Junk E-mail folder, and displays it in the Message list in the color assigned to the Junk category. In addition, pictures that are a part of messages labeled as junk e-mail will not be downloaded.
See below for exact steps on configuring your junk e-mail options in Entourage.
| On the Tools menu, click Junk E-mail Protection. |
||
Choose the level of junk e-mail protection you want. To automatically delete messages stored in the Junk E-mail folder after a specified number of days, select Delete messages from the Junk E-mail folder older than and specify the number of days you want. When using this option, it is important to check the contents of the Junk E-mail folder frequently for messages that might be mislabeled as junk mail to avoid deleting messages you may want. |
||
To exempt messages from a specific domain, click the Safe Domains tab and type the domain name. Messages from the domains listed here will never be treated as junk mail. |
||
| Tips: To change the color of messages in the Junk category, on the Edit menu, point to Categories, and then click Edit Categories. Click the color to the right of the Junk category, and then click the color you want. You can also delete messages stored in the Junk E-mail folder older than a specified number of days by pointing to Run Schedule on the Tools menu and clicking Empty Junk E-mail Folder. |
