Supported Exchange 2003 IMAP clients
IMAP stands for Internet Message Access Protocol and is one method of accessing your e-mail from a mail server.
IMAP is ideal for users who want to access their e-mail from off campus. Messages are displayed on your computer but they are stored on the mail server. You can work with all your mail, old and new, from any computer.
UConn's Exchange server is IMAP4-compliant server, therefore you can use any secure IMAP4-standard mail client. However, there is a list of supported IMAP clients and you are encouraged to use one of the following:

On-Campus
If you are using IMAP on-campus at UConn, you should configure your IMAP program with smtp.uconn.edu as the SMTP server.
Off-Campus
If you are off-campus, you should configure your IMAP program to use your Internet Service Provider's (ISP's) SMTP Server. Each ISP has a different server, and server names are normally in the format smtp.isp.net (for example, smtp.earthlink.net). Contact your Internet Service Provider for details
