Eudora IMAP Configuration: Windows
Beginning with version 5.1 Eudora can be used to access Exchange using secure IMAP
The instructions below were created using version 6.1.2. You can download a free version here.
Note: UITS Technicians will assist in the installation of Eudora as an IMAP e-mail client only. Further Support will be from other sources such as http://www.eudora.com/techsupport/win/ for windows users and http://www.eudora.com/techsupport/mac/ for Macintosh users.

Follow the steps below to configure Eudora to use IMAP with UConn's Exchange server.
- Open Eudora, go to the Tools menu, and choose Options.
- Click Getting Started and fill in your information:
- Real Name: Your full name
- Return address: Your UConn Personal Name address
- Mail Server (Incoming): exchange.uconn.edu.
- Login Name: uconn\NetID (uconn\abc01001)
- SMTP Server (Outgoing): smtp.uconn.edu. Click here for more information.
- Click on Checking Mail and fill in the following information if not already completed:
- Mail Server: exchange.uconn.edu
- Login name: uconn\Your NetID
- Secure Sockets When Receiving: Select- Required, Alternet Port
- Click on Incoming Mail, and select IMAP for Server configuration. Type in exchange.uconn.edu for IMAP mailbox location prefix:
- Click OK,
- Type in your Exchange/NetID password and click OK.
Note: If you are using a paid/licensed copy of Eudora you will NOT need to enter the IMAP mailbox location prefix.
Eudora will now be set up to use IMAP with UConn's Exchange server.
