Configure Entourage 2004 for IMAP

Follow the steps below to use Entourage to access e-mail on UConn's Exchange server via IMAP. If you want to also sync your calendars and contacts between Entourage and Exchange see the Entourage Exchange configuration page.

1. Go to the Tools menu and select the Accounts command.

2. In the Accounts window  that appears, click New.

3. Select IMAP and click OK.

4. In the Edit Account dialog the appears enter the following information:

with Personal Information and Receiving mail sections filled in and advanced receiving options open

Account Name Exchange E-mail Account
E-mail address first.last@uconn.edu
Account ID Your NetID
IMAP Server exchange.uconn.edu

Under the Click here for advanced receiving options section:

check This IMAP service requires a secure connection
check Override default IMAP port
port number 993

SMTP Server smtp.uconn.edu

Under the Click here for advanced sending options section, make sure that nothing is checked. Click OK.

5. Entourage will now request your User Name (NetID) and Password.

6. Congratulations, you're configured and ready to go with your UConn Exchange e-mail account!
